Parc Guell is going through a sort of transformation right now because they’re in the process of building a ticket booth. Yea…they’re going to charge an admission now which sucks, so I’m glad that I got to go when it’s free. Seriously though…do they need to make money off everything?

Anyway, as promised, here’s what I picked up from Park Guell:

The place was built over a period of 14 year from 1900-1914 through the urging of a Spanish aristocrat who wanted to create a sort of exclusive neighborhood on top of hill. A  couple houses were built, no buyers came, but Gaudi himself eventually moved in with his family for a few years. Now it’s a pretty park for everyone to see.

There’s a fairy tale feeling to the place.

Let’s move on to the Sagrada Familia, Gaudi’s most well-known work. It was probably one of the most fascinating things I’ve ever seen in my life.

The interior. Wow.

We’re currently on vacation right now until November 3rd actually, so everything I do is a mixture of relaxing and eating lots of fatty french foods which should not be freely available for cheap at the bakery outside my house.
