Binge drinking for kids

Today the group of boys that sit together in the kahvehane (lunch room) decided to overdo it on ayran. Ayran is a salted yogurt drink that looks like thick milk at first glance, and tastes very similar to liquid cottage cheese. Turkish kids grow up drinking it as much as Americans drink milk, and they can down 5 cups easily in one meal. Considering there is hardly any fresh milk here and that most people buy UHT( the ultra-pasteurized shelf-stable kind) like most of Europe, Ayran is the replacement.
